Jason Chong, Psy.D.

Dr. Chong is a licensed clinical psychologist and clinical neuropsychologist specializing in brain and behavior relationships. He provides comprehensive neuropsychological assessments of adolescents and adults throughout the lifespan with specific interests and expertise in evaluating individuals with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and dementia. He has had specialized formal training in evaluating a wide range of medical, neurological, neurosurgical, and psychiatric conditions in both inpatient and outpatient settings including head injury, epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, degenerative dementia (Alzheimer’s disease, FrontoTemporal Dementias, Lewy Body Dementia, Vascular Dementia), brain tumors, Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, HIV, substance abuse, toxic exposure, depression, anxiety, ADHD and learning disabilities. He utilizes a process/hypothesis testing approach in his neuropsychological evaluations and provides succinct, practical recommendations and information to referral sources and to patients and families based on test results, medical and psychosocial histories, and the integration of his findings.

Dr. Chong received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology from Pacific University’s School of Professional Psychology in 2009. He completed an APA accredited internship at the University of Miami’s Miller School of Medicine and Jackson Memorial Hospital’s level one trauma center and neuro-rehabilitation unit. During his internship he received specialized training in the evaluation and treatment of traumatic brain injury, stroke, and other neurological diseases throughout the course of hospitalization and recovery. Dr. Chong completed an APPCN approved formal two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at West Virginia University and Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center’s School of Medicine within the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry. There, Dr. Chong continued to specialize in providing comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations of individuals with memory disorders, brain tumors, movement disorders, traumatic brain injury, and stroke. His training follows the guidelines set forth by the American Psychological Association and Houston conference guidelines for board eligibility in clinical neuropsychology.
